Project BEAMS Financial Support

Tuition Support

  • Project BEAMS students will receive up to $14,000 directly applied towards the MA in School Psychology program tuition and fees

  • Students are eligible to receive this support for up to 2 years (for a maximum of up to $28,000 in support)

  • This support covers most (but not all) tuition/fees associated with the school psychology program during the 2-year Project BEAMS award periods

Paid Assistantship

  • Project BEAMS students must commit to a 2-year Graduate Assistant (GA) position

  • The GA position is held year-round and is paid at $20/hour, approximately 19 hours per week

  • Via the GA position, Project BEAMS students will earn approximately $19,000 per year, for up to 2 years

Important Disclaimers:

  • As previously noted, the tuition/fees support may not fully cover all tuition/fees associated with enrollment in the MA in School Psychology program, but it covers the majority of program costs for up to 2 years.

  • Tuition/fees support will not increase over the course of the support period, even if tuition/fees cost increase.

  • The grant is funded on an annual basis, from January to December of each year. You are applying for the 2025 year, with a start date of Summer 2025 for coursework and July 1, 2025 for the paid GA position.

  • We anticipate that funding will also be available for the 2026 and 2027 years (to allow for a two-year assistantship). However, funding is not guaranteed for the 2026 or 2027 years, but if you accept a Project BEAMS GA position, you are still obligated to complete – at minimum – your year-long practicum experience at SWISD.
