Frequently Asked Questions

ARE THERE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROJECT BEAMS STUDENTS? Yes! As part of Project BEAMS, you will receive fudning via direct payment towards your tuition and fees, as well as through your employment as a Graduate Assistant.

I DON'T LIVE IN SAN ANTONIO, CAN I COMPLETE THE PROGRAM ONLINE? Unfortunately, there is no online option for Project BEAMS or for the MA in School Psychology Program at UTSA.

IS THERE A PART - TIME OPTION FOR PROJECT BEAMS? Unfortunately, there is no part-time option for Project BEAMS. Students must be enrolled full-time in the MA in School Psychology program and must agree to work as Graduate Assistants.

DOES THIS PROGRAM MEET THE REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST/LSSP? Yes! The MA in School Psychology program at UTSA meet current school psychologist/LSSP licensure requirements. The program also meets requirements for the National Certification in School Psychology (NCSP).

WHAT KIND OF JOBS DO STUDENTS TAKE AFTER GRADUATION? Project BEAMS students will complete the MA in School Psychology program. Students are then eligible to apply for licensure (and to work) as a school psychologist in K-12 school settings.

WHAT TRAINING/EDUCATION WILL I RECEIVE AS A PROJECT BEAMS STUDENT? Project BEAMS students are required to be admitted to and enrolled in the MA in School Psychology program at UTSA.
